How do I start a hangout?
Tap Start a session, give it a name and your name, pick a vibe, and you're in. Share the invite code so friends can join.
How do friends join?
From the home screen, tap Join with a code and enter the 6-character code the host shares.
How does Bupples decide who pays whom?
When you settle up, Bupples works out the *fewest* payments that clear everyone's balance ("simplify debts"). It may suggest a payment between two people who didn't directly spend together — that's normal and still settles everyone correctly. You can turn this off per session under More options when creating a hangout.
Does Bupples move money?
No. Bupples is a record-keeping tool — it tracks who owes what. You pay each other however you normally do (bank transfer, cash, e-wallet); Bupples just keeps the math straight.
How do I back up my hangouts?
Sign in with Google or Apple (Settings → Account, or the avatar on the home screen). Your sessions then sync and follow you to any device. You can keep using Bupples as a guest, too.
How do I delete a hangout or my account?
- A host can delete a session from inside it.
- To delete your whole account and data: Settings → Delete account. This is permanent.
What do the haptics settings do?
Settings → Accessibility → Haptics lets you choose Off, Light, or Full vibration feedback. Bupples also respects your device's *Reduce Motion* setting automatically.
Is my data private?
Yes. Only members of a session can see its expenses, and we use no advertising or tracking. See our Privacy Policy.
